Special bridge crane with two trolleys

Special bridge cranes  equipped with two trolleys are widely used during  implementation of installation and assembly work and also for maintenance of metallurgical plants and during simultaneous work with different cargo gripping devices - magnets and grabs.
 
Special bridge cranes with two trolleys can have double or three beams with parallel trolley travelling. Independent simultaneous and synchronized work of both lifting mechanisms is possible due to application of independent frequency inverters  on each  trolley.

The frame of the load trolley is a welded structure on which  lifting & travelling mechanisms are mounted. Trolley lifting mechanism consists of an electric motor, a  gear box, a rope drum with a rope and a hook suspension, a brake and an overload limiters. Trolley travelling device consists of an electric motor, a gear box, a brake and limit switches. The trolley itself is based on four single or double flange  wheels mounted on the frame  by means of  angle boxes. Cargo trolley can have one or two drives.

Electric motors which ensure cargo lifting and handling are powered from trolley wires laid along the bridge by means of sliding contact or flexible current lead.

While using additional cargo gripping devices such as electromagnet,  motorized grab or jaws the trolley is equipped with a cable reel with a flexible cable to feed the cargo grip. The cable reel is synchronized with a rope drum and ensures proper cable length while lifting and lowering cargo gripping device.

It is possible to design special four-beam cranes with two trolleys such as pouring cranes for operation in foundry workshops of metallurgical plants or cranes for canting upstairs. In this case If the crane has two trolleys:  one of these trolleys is main and the second trolley is auxiliary one. Tracks for  travelling of the auxiliary trolley are located lower than tracks of the main trolley. To ensure this   the tracks of the auxiliary trolley are  made narrower than those of the main one . Due to this fact  ropes of the main trolley travel in gaps between the tracks of the main and auxiliary trolleys.
